What is Yummm?
Yummm is a new website that features deals in real-time from online food & beverage merchants from around the web.
Who visits Yummm?
Our regular visitors will include foodies, bloggers, wine aficionados, beer drinkers, chefs, stay-at-home moms, vegans, health food junkies, and basically anyone who likes saving money on exciting foods or beverages.
Are there any fees to sign up for Yummm?
There are zero fees to sign up and use our beta service.
Will Yummm always be free to merchants?
At this point, our main focus is to build a great marketplace for online food and beverage merchants. However, in the future, we may implement a small commission-based fee for our services.
When is Yummm opening to the public?
Our goal is to open in March!
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. Simply remove the scripts from your website and delete your store from your account at any time.
Does Yummm sell my product for me?
No, we simply act as a third-party service that refers traffic to your site and all orders are placed there. We do not take any part in the sale, payment or shipment of any products.
Which of my products can be featured on Yummm?
Your products will be featured on Yummm only if there is a DISCOUNT on them. We will not feature any products on our homepage if they are at regular price or have not been marked down at least 5%.
How do I get my deals featured on Yummm?
1.) Register at Yummm.com as a Merchant by filling out our Merchant Registration form. 2.) After we approve your store (approval may take up to 24hours), you will receive an email from us with a link to the tracking script setup procedures. 3.) Install the tracking scripts and click "Verify store". Once verified, your store will be all set. How many tracking scripts do I need to install? And what are their functions?
We require you to install two tracking scripts on your website in order to complete the registration process. The functions of the scripts are listed below: Tracking Script #1 (Product Info)- this script will do two things-- 1. collects detailed info for all the products in your store (includes product ID, product name, product description, URL of product page, product image, and SKU [if available]) , and 2. installs the "Follow Product" button on all product pages in your store Tracking Script #2 (Order Info)- this script will pass back general information about orders placed on your website through our referral (includes order ID, order total, order shipping total, and order tax total). This information will help you keep track of orders that were referred by Yummm. Both scripts run in real time and will collect new or updated product information from your website. This will let us know if the price has changed on any of your products, and also if a deal has been set! You will not need to manually submit any pricing updates to us -- the scripts do it all!
Does installing the tracking scripts give Yummm access to my website's database or private information?
Absolutely not. Yummm does not have access to any confidential account or database information.
Can I install the tracking script on my own?
We suggest that you have a Web Developer assist you with this process since the installation instructions may be a bit technical. You may also email support@yummm.com with questions/issues, but our staff may only have limited knowledge of your ecommerce package. LIVE DEALS
I've installed the scripts and set some deals . Now what?
Our tracker automatically flags your product if it finds a price reduction. If you set a discount on only one product, it will display on the homepage almost immediately. If you set discounts on multiple products at one time, our tracker selects one product and displays it on the homepage. The remaining products will be clustered and will be viewable under your store deal page.
I set a deal, but I don't see it on Yummm's homepage. Am I doing something wrong?
There may be many reasons why your product is not appearing on the homepage. However, please note that there's an algorithm that selects which products gets featured and not all deals make it.
How long does my deal remain on the homepage?
Your listing will display on the homepage until it gets pushed back by new deals. Since it's a live feed, the newest discounts gets premium placement so there isn’t a set time limit it will stay on.
What happens after I expire a deal?
The product will be removed from the "current deals" section and will be displayed under the "expired deals" section. There, users can browse and purchase products at regular price.
Can I disable or remove my product(s) so that it does not show on Yummm's live feed?
Yes. Simply log in to the merchant's account page, go to "Manage Products" and select "Hide" for any products you do not wish to be displayed on Yummm.
I don't like the image of my product that is displaying on Yummm. Can I change it?
No, the product images shown on Yummm are set at a default size and you cannot modify it. ORDERS
How will I know that Yummm referred an order to my store?
Each visitor is assigned a cookie when they visit Yummm. If the visitor clicks a deal, lands on your website and places an order, our order tracking script checks to see if the cookie is found. If so, we can determine the order was referred from Yummm.
Can I see detailed information about referred orders?
Yes. Simply log in and go to the Merchant Account page, then select "My Orders". There you will see basic order details (date, time, order total, etc) for each order placed at your store. There is also an additional detail link where you can see: where the user was referred from, how they landed on your product page, and when the order was placed. FOLLOW PRODUCT FEATURE
What does the "Follow Product" button do?
The follow button allows visitors on your website to "follow" your products and stay updated with product pricing. For example, when you set a deal on "Product A", Yummm picks up the deal, and automatically emails a price mark-down notification to everyone following this product. This powerful feature provides you with instant communication with your customers, an automated email marketing tool for each product, and an easy way to reach many customers by simply setting a deal.
Who can follow my products?
Anyone can follow your products, but they must be a registered user on Yummm.
Will I be able to see who is following my products?
No. We cannot give you personal information about users due to privacy reasons. However, you can view the number of people following a specific product in your Merchant Account section at any time.
How can I get more users to follow my products?
After joining Yummm, you should inform your current customers that your store now offers a "Follow Product" feature and they can stay updated with their favorite products. You should also set deals, get featured on Yummm and attract new followers from our homepage.
